Groene thee

MuziekVan alle soorten thee is de groene thee de meest pure vorm. Na het plukken worden de blaadjes gerold waarbij de bladsappen vrijkomen. Direct daarna worden ze kort gestoomd en daardoor wordt het fermentatieproces (het oxideren, dus blootstellen aan zuurstof) direct gestopt. De thee is lichter dan zwarte thee, maar heeft nog wel de eigenschap om andere smaken op te nemen. Vandaar dat deze thee er ook in vele smaakvarianten is. Omdat het fermentatieproces wordt gestopt is deze thee nog rijk aan antioxidanten, waardoor er gezonde eigenschappen aan toegeschreven worden.

Groene thee maakt u met gekookt water dat afgekoeld is naar maximaal 90 graden. Twee theelepels theeblaadjes is voldoende voor een flinke kop thee.
