Zwarte thee

20150807-_DSF0980De zwarte theeblaadjes worden geplukt van de plant Camellia Sinensis. Ze worden na het plukken in de zon gelegd en vervolgens gerold, waarbij de bladsappen vrijkomen. Als deze bladsappen in aanraking komen met zuurstof, zorgt oxidatie, dus zuurstof, voor fermentatie. Als theeblaadjes gearomatiseerd worden dan betekent dat dat er bijvoorbeeld jasmijnblaadjes over de theeblaadjes gelegd worden.

Zwarte thee is erg gevoelig voor opname van andere smaken. De smaak van de jasmijn trekt dus al snel in de zwarte thee. Dit proces wordt enkele malen herhaald. De restanten van bijvoorbeeld de jasmijn worden meegenomen in het productieproces, waardoor je de leuke witte stipjes in jasmijnthee ziet. Al hebben ze dan al lang geen functie meer! Dit kan ook met alle andere voedingssoorten, zoals banaan, appel, bergamotolie (de klassieke Earl Grey) etc.

Zwarte thee maakt u met water van 100 graden (kokend dus). In 1 kopje doe je 1 à 1½ theelepel zwarte thee.
